CMCE Customer Highlight: Cushman & Wakefield Developments in Miami, Florida

Commercial office buildings in Florida with transparent domes over them to show the protection of the CMCE.

With a global presence and expertise in every sector of commercial real estate, Cushman & Wakefield manages a wide range of properties, from office spaces and industrial facilities to retail and residential developments. Their mission is to help clients maximize the value of their real estate assets through tailored services, strategic insights, and cutting-edge technology. As part of their commitment to operational excellence, Cushman & Wakefield prioritizes safety and risk mitigation.

In the new Waterford Business District in Miami, Florida, where unpredictable weather and frequent thunderstorms pose a significant risk, Cushman & Wakefield invested in the advanced CMCE Lightning Suppression system to safeguard seven of their commercial properties from lightning strikes. Each property is protected with a CMCE-120 Lightning Suppressor to cover 500,000 square feet.

Unlike traditional lightning rods, which aim to channel electrical charges after taking a lightning strike, the CMCE Lightning Suppressor prevents lightning formation altogether; creating a lightning-strike-free protective shield over and around the installation area. This is achieved by neutralizing the excess electrical charges that build in the atmosphere during a thunderstorm.

By installing the largest CMCE model across seven properties, Cushman & Wakefield have ensured their developments are not only protected from lightning strikes, but also from any potential downtime or costly repairs. This durable, low-maintenance system will allow them to focus on what they do best – delivering exceptional value to their clients and managing world-class properties.
